T-Mobile HotSpot@Home… not so hot

T-Mobile HotSpot runs cold with complications
My tests with this wireless network and its companion mobile phone were so underwhelming that I’d suggest anyone with even the tiniest bit of tech savvy wait for something better.
had two main issues. First, my initial setup of the proprietary Wi-Fi network, based on the carrier’s instructions, added wires to my existing wireless network. To make it work, I had to turn one of my two Wi-Fi-connected laptops into a desktop, tethered to a modem.
Making a home Wi-Fi network less wireless is not a salable feature. Nor is the fact that my secured wireless network was suddenly unsecure, open for anyone to use.
The second problem was with the phone. Let’s just say calling it uninspiring would be a compliment. It is so devoid of features — less than a megapixel camera and no Web browser for a phone designed to make Internet calls — that it could spur a comeback of the rotary dialer.
The good news here is that the setup works — mostly.
Peer Review: T-Mobile’s HotSpot@Home service
At least, that’s how it’s supposed to work. Reviews have been mixed. While some love the service, others find it difficult to use or glitchy. Reviewers agree on two things, though: First, seamless Wi-Fi/mobile service integration is a great idea. And second, the phones that T-Mobile is currently selling to go with HotSpot@Home are not cool at all. More detailed reports after the jump.
Firefox 433566 (53.9%)
MSIE 275788 (34.29%)
Opera 49263 (6.12%)
A study of nearly 96,000 websites carried out during the week of July 2 to July 8 found that FF had 27.8% market share across Eastern and Western Europe, IE had 66.5%, with other browsers including Safari and Opera making up the remaining 5.7%. The July market share represents a massive 3.7% rise since a similar survey in March.
A particularly worrying sign for Microsoft is that in some key European markets FF is threatening to overtake IE as the market leading browser. In Slovenia (47.9%) and Finland (45.4%) FF usage has reached parity with IE, while in Germany, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Ireland, FF has either reached or is nearly at 40% market share.

Nije besplatan nego Adware, svakih 15 minuta koristenja moras pogledati jednu reklamu ili… platiti… :-)
